C'est un roman classique du 19eme siecle. Une histoire un peu demodee mais tres interessante et assez facile a lire.
This is a sad growing up story written in the 19th century about events in that century. This makes it interesting and credible. It is partially an autobiography of the author but has some elements of a fairy tale. The author did not describe a very positive, inspiring and positive protagonist. I read it in French and the language Is not too difficult . The chapters are short making the book easier to read.
